View Our Charity

The Ribblesdale area covers parts of Lancashire , Cumbria & North Yorkshire, East of a line Colne-Carnforth, Carlisle to Scottish Border and West of a line Cowling-Nappa and West side of River Ribble to the Scottish Border.

Ribblesdale is a section of the British Caravanners Club, which in turn is a section of the Camping & Caravanning Club of Great Britain.  We meet on a regular basis and have a full calendar of weekend meets, five day meets and holiday sites.  In the winter months we also have socials often in village halls.  We also have some special booked meets such as our Christmas Dinner and New Year Meet at Silverdale. Please look at the Venues page for more details.

With hopes of meeting new friends and, of course, meeting up with existing friends. We try our best to encourage more and more people to join our club, and if you ever decide to camp with us, then please do not hesitate to ask our area chairman or any of the members of our committee for a form with membership details.

We are always hopeful of receiving requests from new members, we all here hope to see all of you out camping sometime in the future!

The British Caravanners Club:

The British Caravanners Club (BCC) is a special interest section of the Camping and Caravanning Club.

To join this section costs a mere £5.00 on top of the annual club fee. When you join, you receive a programme which lists every BCC section meet of the year and also copies of Caravanning magazine, written by members for members, with photos sent in by campers, news of events such as our FOL, and news from the various areas in the BCC. The programme book this year is cream in colour and in the middle of the book is a card the same colour of the cover. One half contains a circular disc containing the BCC logo; the other half contains what looks like a form to fill in. Now don’t groan… it’s just not as bad as all that! If you find yourself camping regularly with a particular section (e.g. Ribblesdale!), you may as well reap the benefits by filling this card in and handing it to the chairman (or any other committee member). What benefits, I hear you ask? Well I can’t speak for all sections but “putting your card in” with Ribblesdale BCC means you can take advantage of these benefits:

The most important is the right to vote on any motion discussed at the AGM – it is your club, you have a right to in saying how you would like to see it run.

Then there are our “ten meet vouchers” – every Ribblesdale meet you attend counts towards these – when you reach 10 meets you quality for a “voucher” which is presented at the AGM. The value of a voucher has been increased to £10, so for example, if you’ve attended 22 meets, you qualify for 2 vouchers, giving you £20 – it pays for your weekend and a couple of drinks in the pub!

Also, at the AGM, we slave away all afternoon to provide a sumptuous buffet which, as a Ribblesdale member, you get to enjoy free of charge; and maybe even get seconds!

Finally, if you come to our Christmas party with your children aged 16 or under, they get not only to experience the excitement of meeting of Father Christmas in the flesh, but also receive a present, which believe me, is more than worth the £5.00 joining fee!

I hope this has given you a better idea of what we have to offer as a BCC section – so why not come along and give us a try?

See you out on the field!

                             Regards,
                                      The Ribblesdale committee and team
